The Caz Lab would like to congratulate our recent graduates, Tyler Glaser and Megan Ogburn!
Tyler Glaser completed his Master’s in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Tulane, exploring different citizen science datasets (through eBird and the North American Breeding Bird Survey) and comparing their various advantages and usages in monitoring migratory populations.
In summer 2020, Tyler will be doing point count surveys on farms located in the Salinas Valley of California. The project is studying how highly-modified agricultural landscapes influence biodiversity and ecosystem services. In the future, he hopes to apply to PhD programs related to agroecology, conservation, and land management.
Megan Ogburn completed her Master’s in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology studying the biotransfer of heavy metals in milkweed and monarch butterflies. Her participation in the Caz Lab continues with her analysis of monarch population dynamics in the city of New Orleans, as she simultaneously pursues her next step– environmental consulting in the Bay Area of California.
